Tarlac Photo Diary

So for our NSTP-CWTS exposure trip, our class along with 11 other classes were chosen to have our trip in Hacienda Luisita, Tarlac. And we were given a chance to live with the farmers there for a day and experience the things they do, from waking up at 3 am to dealing with their water system which is only available from 4 am til 2 pm to learning how cook using a pot and charcoal, and to learning how to harvest crops.

This 24 hour trip taught us so much, because of how the lived there and their experiences fighting for the land they own, base on their numerous stories.

Here are some picture that our assistant leader, Sherlaine Yap took during our trip.

Day 1 ( March 2)

One of our tasks is to hold an art workshop for the kids there. We decided to teach them origami so we provided some colored paper and some crayons for them to use.

Day 2 (March 3)

To complete our experience with the farmers, they taught us how to harvest mongo.

So that sums up our one-of-a-kind weekend in Tarlac! ;)
